If the diabetes educator sees a blood glucose log with numbers in the 120's on average but there is no A1c of 8.8%, what should be considered what assessment questions should this person be asked, and what health problems are they at risk for?

I just found out I have gestational diabetes, What are some good sites for meals and care?

Posted on August 2, 2011

I only have a little over one month of pregnancy to go but I want to take care of myself and baby. I would also like advice on what to do after pregnancy to continue care of myself since this increased my already higher risk of type 2 diabetes later in life due to heredity and obesity. I already know lose weight.
Thanks.

Gum Erosion From Oral Piercings?

Is there any way to prevent damage to your teeth and gums from an oral piercing (besides not getting one at all)? I've been considering getting one, but the risk doesn't seem worth it if the risk is guaranteed.

How often should I get checked for diabetes?

I was wondering how often i should get checked for diabetes because both my dad and my grandma have it. I know that i am at risk because it runs on my dads side of the family.I also get dizzy when I stand up. And I am a teen that does do sports. I am not overweight.
When i do get dizzy i feel like i am about to faint and if i eat something it helps.

How fat must you be before diabetes becomes a risk?

I'm about 3 kilos overweight, but I also have a family history of diabeties. I was wondering how overweight must you be before diabetes is a risk, or in other words, if I were to get diabetes now, would it be more likely due to my family history of diabetes or my 3 kilo overweight (at 75 when normal is 73kilos) ?
