Is fluoride safe to swallow?
I just had a dentists appointment and after the appointment the dentist put a yellow/brown paste on my teeth called fluoride. They didnt say whether or not if its safe to swaloow but did say not to eat or drink for 20-30 minutes. I keep swallowing because its hard not to (it goes in with my saliva) and it tastes like toothpaste. Anyway is it safe? Also, what is it for?
Does eating breakfast without brushing one's teeth first cause dangerous swallowing of plaque?
My friend claims that eating breakfast before brushing teeth is "gross" because it causes the person to swallow plaque with his/her food, and this is unhealthful. I certainly agree that teeth should be brushed in the morning, but I had not thought it mattered if a little food was eaten first. Aren't we swallowing plaque all night long, simply by virtue of the way saliva works? Also, is this even bad? I know plaque is bad for teeth, but I didn't know there was a special danger in swallowing it after it is there.
HELP!!! How can you cure bad breath??!! I need a cheap cure for bad breath that is likely due to a cavity.?
I think I have a cavity, or maybe my wisdom tooth is messed up, because my husband says that I taste gross when he kisses me, and every now and then, I get stinky breath. I brush and floss, but I have always needed a lot of dental care because of acidic saliva, and apparently my two years without seeing a dentist are taking their toll. I need a quick fix for my breath, because my dental insurance won't be in place until at least a month, and then it still might be too expensive... Any one know of any really good breath cures or mouth washes or ANYTHING??? I am desperate. I really miss being kissed good.
crest white strips dont seem to work. how do i get them to work or get my teeth super white?
My teeth have a kind of yellowish natural tint to them. I used crest white strips and the first three days or so, my teeth got a little bit more white. Now I'm on the 10th day and my teeth are still yellow and have not whitened.... maybe just a little tiny bit. I want them to be super white, like extremely noticeably white. Why would this be? When I wear them, I wear the classics, and so much saliva gathers. Could the saliva get in he way of the whitening? Thanks so much

Bad breath during a water fast?
What causes bad breath during a water fast. I think I heard somewhere that it is caused by acetone being relesed out of your lungs, but I can't find that answer anywhere. Thanks all in advance.
Yes water only. This is day 16 sometimes my breath is fresh and my mouth taste sweet but other times it horrible and my tongue is coated. In the morning time when if I swallow my saliva it burns my throat going down.

Are non-alcohol mouthwashes any good?
I know that alcohol mouthwashes are bad because they inhibit the production of the natural anti-tooth decay fluid, saliva.
However, are non-alcohol mouthwashes, like Crest Pro Health, any good?
Also, are pre-brushing anti-plaque mouthwashes, like Plax, any good?
Also, should I rinse my mouth out with water after using a non-alcohol mouthwash?

This morning I spit into the sink and there was blood mixed with the saliva and I've noticed an increase in the plaque in and around my teeth. I thought maybe I also saw a white spot in my mouth but that might just be dead skin in there. Any ideas?

I took a bunch of advil and that didn't help at all. I also tried cough drops and this throat spray and they never helped it.
Those choices do sound more powerful however.
What is that liquid that fills your mouth when you bursh your teeth?
you start brushing, your mouth is empty....a little bit of toothpaste on a toothbrush and a couple brushes through your teeth...and your mouth is full of white liquid...is it Saliva? or some special thing that comes when the baking soda on the toothpaste is mixed with saliva? if I didnt have Saliva what would come out of brushing? what would the toothpaste turn into? WHAT IS THE LIQUID I SPIT OUT OF MY MOUTH AT THE END OF BRUSHING?!
