can someone give me advice on a tongue piercing?

Posted on March 28, 2011

I just had my tongue pierced on Saturday Oct. 6th. it has been 5 days since i had it done. mostly all of the swelling is down and i am able to eat solid foods. the first 2 days was the most uncomfortable but im still having trouble with sensitive front teeth and a little bit of pain in the gum area. I cant help not playing with the piercing and i sometimes hurt myself because i cant stop playing with it. im also having a little trouble with using too much mouthwash...i read an article that said to try not to over use the mouthwash and a way to tell if you are overusing is if your tongue has a slight greenish or brownish coating color to it...and i have that. i was wondering if anyone could tell me some tips or tricks on how to stop playing with it and if there is anything i can do or take for sensitive teeth, my teeth bother me so much that its effecting my sleep, i cant get to sleep because it hurts so bad...can anyone help or do i just have to wait it all out until it heals properly?
Thank you for all that answered. you all helped a lot =)

Best teeth whitening strips for extremely yellow stained teeth?

Posted on March 14, 2011

To be honest, I have really bad yellow stained teeth. I have heard of a lot of teeth whitening strips that are said to be effective, but there's so much products out there! I don't have VERY sensitive teeth, and they don't bleed. What are the best teeth whitening strips that I can buy at a regular drug store for a whiter smile? Thank you

Is there a serious problem with my tooth?

Posted on March 12, 2011

Ok, I usually have sensitive teeth. And when I change my toothpaste, toothbrush and mouth wash I get rid of it. Last night I had something hard to chew and then I felt that my back molar was sensitive to touch. It's filled and looks ok. Just a little point in the inside was sensitive to pressure. Not hurt bad, a mild pain. I changed my toothpaste and now, it sometimes is sensitive to touch and sometimes not. Is it a cracked tooth syndrome?

Can fluoride in toothpaste be dangerous?

Posted on March 7, 2011

I use Prevident 5000 PLUS for my sensitive teeth. I grind them in my sleep and I have a low PH saliva. So when it comes to keeping my teeth from stabbing pains every time I eat and drink, I HAVE to use this tooth paste.

However, this particular toothpaste has the highest levels of fluoride available on the market (non prescription) and I worry about some of the 'negative effects' of fluoride that I've heard about.

Are there any actual dangers in using a toothpaste high in fluoride levels?
