What could cause these symptoms in a child other than diabetes?
clammy skin
sweating
acting out
They go away after he has a snack or meal. The doctors have tested several times for diabetes but all the tests have come up negative.
Do I have diabetes? What is the difference between Type I and Type II?
I sweat a lot, eat a lot, and go to the bathroom several times throughout the day. I am a skinny person. Do I have diabetes?
How can I prevent my teeth from eroding?
I have an eating disorder. I've been purging several times a week for about six years now. Yes, I know how incredibly dangerous that is. But sorry, you won't be able to change that with a lecture, so can we please skip that? I appreciate your concern, but it won't change anything.
Anyway. I want to minimize the effects all that purging will have on my teeth (I know I can't totally prevent damage, but I want to do as little damage as possible).
For the past few years, my routine is to take a Tums tablet to neutralize the stomach acid, wait about 10 minutes, then purge. Afterwards I rinse with hydrogen peroxide and then with water. (I know not to brush my teeth immediately after purging, because I've heard doing that only makes the erosion worse).
Is this a good routine? Should I brush my teeth before I purge? Should I rinse with hydrogen peroxide before purging? Should I continue rinsing with peroxide afterwards, or is that bad?
Any tips you can give me to prevent as much erosion as possible? Thanks so much.
@Lax19: actually, if you brush your teeth after purging, it's really bad for your teeth (you're basically brushing stomach acid into the enamel).

@ Norwegian Hammer: Superficial? Gee, thanks. That's definitely why I asked the question, to get called superficial... you don't know me, so please close your mouth. I would love to stop purging. I've tried, and I can't. I'm sure in the future I'll be able to stop (I used to cut, too, but I stopped doing that) but in the meantime, I would like to keep my teeth from rotting out. Sorry if you have a problem with that.
@Mommy several times over: appreciate your advice, but I'm perfectly aware of that. I know the erosion won't stop. That's not what I asked. I asked how to MINIMIZE the damage. I really just want a straight answer, not a song that I've heard played over and over.
It would be really fantastic if someone would actually answer the question.
What's the best way to relieve back pain at night?
I'm 23 years old, healthy, and have never had back problems. We've had the same mattress for 2 years. In the past week I've started getting uncomfortable back pains throughout the night, which cause me to wake up several times in the night. I sleep mostly on my stomach and occasionally on my side. I tried putting a pillow between my legs and under my stomach. It worked a little bit, but the pillow just got in my way in the bed with my husband and 2 dogs. Any other ideas? Please help... I need a good night's sleep!
Can toothpaste help prevent pimples?
I've heard that several times. I'm not sure it would work on Asian skin...?
Please help me with a question about monroe piercing?
I have Had my monroe almost 2 weeks, on the 4th or 5th day the bar got hung on my tooth causing the monroe to pull thru the hole. I pushed the bar back in the hole and I was told this is normal by ;the piercer. (?). This has happened several times. Also, how long does the red stay around the piercing?
How to deal with a tooth problem?
I generally take good care of my teeth. I brush them regularly, and I do floss on occasion, but still not quite as much as I should. The other day, I noticed that the gums around one of my teeth in the front were a little bit irritated, and every time I bite into something like an apple, or even put something near my mouth, that awful smell you get from plaque/bad breath is there. I've flossed several times since I noticed it, to try and get rid of it, but nothing. In fact, it just irritates the gums more, and it still smells bad, but only in that area. I'm trying to be gentle, but I don't know what's wrong.
Also, I cannot see a dentist for another month (6 month rule), and I am away at school anyways.
What is it? What can I do?
I Have this throbbing internal pain on my lower right back what is it?
Its not just back pain cause it feels like something internal is working over time. Its right in the back almost over my , excuse my language, butt. I have had kidney stones before but this is soo different. Along with this pain i do get, what i like to call kidney shots, it feels like a kidney stone pain but lasts about 5-10 minutes several times throughout the day everyday. Any medical professional want to give me their opinion?
Why am I spitting blood after brushing my teeth?
It happens to me on and off depending on how hard I scrub. I especially noticed blood this morning when spitting several times. Sometimes I bleed a little, sometimes I don't at all. I also have acid indigestion, eat lot of sweets, coffee, too, if that's even relevant. I don't have any other tooth symptoms. No pain at all. What else could this be?
