Week 13 – with Incognito (lingual) braces – big changes!

A trip to the dentist can be painless…
We discuss how The Wand is perfect for kids and they don't even they are getting a shot because it is not like your "typical shot" watch and see for yourself! Check out another great video of The Super Dentists that discuss The Wand, Laser Dentistry and teeth whitening! More info on "The Wand": It is essentially a computer-controlled dental injection. The flow rate of the local anaesthetic is controlled by a computer. This means that the injection is guaranteed to be slow and steady and therefore comfortable. Most people who have had a bad experience with injections think that needles sting because the skin is pierced, but this is usually not so! Most often, the sting was caused because the anesthetic was fired in too quickly. Obviously, it is possible for the dentist to control the speed with a standard syringe, but the idea of the Wand is to take out the "human error". This can be very reassuring for people with previous bad experiences.
Week 1 with Incognito Braces in San Diego
I made it! I was told that it could take up to two weeks before I was comfortable with my braces on and it took only 5 days of wearing wax all the time to now not having to wear any and enjoying a plate of cheese enchiladas with rice and beans - real food! I have to thank my closest friends that have helped me throughout this... Wax and Soft Foods! But seriously - the wax that I got here at The Super Dentists is better than any other wax out there - trust me - I tried several different types and fell in love with one in particular because it is perfect for Incognito. Soft food such as apple sauce, yogurt, Ensure and smoothies was what I ate for 5 days and this might be the best secret out there to losing weight fast!!! LOL Here is a link with the Rainbow Passage to help you learn to speak correctly - just the first two paragraphs are the most important. Keep reading it out loud and train your tongue to become used to having the metal on your teeth and you will do great! Overall I am loving my braces and the fact that I am in treatment and no one ever knows! I will update everyone on a weekly basis and then starting the week of July 19th I will be only doing monthly updates and showing pictures on how my teeth are moving.
