Is any one else obsesive about there teeth?

Posted on February 22, 2011

I spend a lot of money on teeth products,
crest whitening strips, teeth gels, acids, special toothpastes for plaque and whitening, whitelight kits ect

I just care so much about teeth and gums and stuff.. what about you?
well they are important, with out teeth you cannot eat..
i mean i only take care of them because building of plaque can cause gum diseas and i can cause your teeth to losen from the gum and eventually fall out so thats why i worry, thank you very much!!!!!!!!!! :)

What is the best mouthwash to use?

Posted on February 3, 2011

Which is the best/a great mouthwash to use? I don't mean the ones that just make your mouth smell good after using it, but the mouthwashes that are good for your teeth and gums and overall good oral hygiene?

I currently use Listerine Tartar Control (reads: ANTISEPTIC MOUTHWASH - Kills germs that cause Gingivitis) ,
is there a much better mouthwash? Is ACT a good/better choice to use?

Thanks!

My husband suddenly has bad breath why is this?

He has a doctors appointment coming up. He has sleep apnea could it be a problem with this? He had a sinus infection maybe it didnt clear up either. He went to the dentist, teeth and gums are great. He flosses and uses mouthwash. What and why all of a sudden. He is not sick, nor losing weight.

Electric toothbrush Vs Regular toothbrush. Which do you use and prefer?

Posted on January 21, 2011

Just got my electric toothbrush a few months ago and its amazing!
Before the dentist told me to watch out as my gums were looking a bit unhealthy but since using my electric toothbrush they are back to normal and healthy and my teeth are perfect.

So which do you prefer? Has using an electric toothbrush made a big difference to the health of your teeth and gums?

do i have gingivitis?

Posted on January 14, 2011

i went to my hygienist a couple of weeks ago and she told me that i have early stage gingivitis. but i don't think that i do because my gums aren't red i don't think and my gums or teeth don't bleed when i brush or floss. right now i brush and floss 2 to 3 times a day. i brush for 2 minutes each time using a crest pro spin-brush with sensodyne pronamel toothpaste and i think my teeth and gums have gotten stronger. i have one infection in my filling on top but my dentist doesn't want to extract it yet. it doesn't hurt. do i have a periodontal disease?
can you get rid of it by brushing 3 times a day and flossing?
i have white stuff on a couple of my teeth right above the gumline that i can't get off using floss. how can i remove it and is it plaque?

Do I have gingivitis?

Posted on January 1, 2011

Okay, first of all, I am going to the dentist next week, I would just like to know from you first.

I have not brushed my teeth for 3-4 years, I started doing it again earlier on this week. The thing is, I'd like to know if I have gingivitis or not.

What I'm confused about is how my teeth are perfectly healthy, so are my gums (At least from all the times I've checked... 100 times this week).I most likely have cavities, but everything else feels fine. I do not have any pain at all.

So, the main question; I have no pain at all in my mouth, my teeth and gums look healthy, my gums do not look inflamed, I do not bleed when brushing, flossing or doing anything for that matter. No pain in gums, no anything. As I feel no pain, appear not to have an inflammation in my gums nor any bleeding whatsoever, can I have gingivitis?
Since earlier on this week I started brushing four times a day, flossing once a day and mouth washing with listerine twice a day.

How do you maintain peridontal disease without seeing a dentist?

Posted on December 26, 2010

I will not have dental coverage till Summer time. It's clear my gums are not as healthy as they should be (they bleed when I floss). I noticed a few months ago that the back of my bottom teeth have this white looking junk on them that I can't get off (most likely plaque or tarter build up) but the teeth with the white stuff on them are starting to turn a light brown color. I also noticed by one of my tooths that a small piece of my gum is very puffy and bleeds very easy. The rest of my gums are in good shape but there is just that little section that doesnt look right. I brush 2x a day, floss, and use an antibacterial mouthwash. I even put tea tree oil on that infected part of my gum.
Please don't tell me I need to see a dentist. If I could believe me I would. I have no insurance and can't even afford a co-payment right now.
What can I do to prevent my teeth and gums from getting worse until I can see a dentist in summer time.

Home remedies for teeth whitening really work?

Posted on December 7, 2010

I've heard to get your teeth whiter you can gargle hydrogen peroxide. Also baking soda. Oh yeah and to make your home made tooth paste was mixing hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and a bit of toothpaste. Is this true? Will any of these harm your teeth and gums?
