Tooth enamel restoration?

Posted on July 16, 2010

I was wondering what causes tooth enamel erosion?
Are there any natural ways to get enamel restoration?
And what does enamel really do? I mean, it protects the teeth and keeps them white - but what EXACTLY does it do? Also, what should I stay away from to keep my enamel strong?

What could have caused my enamel erosion?

Hi, I have a large amount of tooth enamel erosion. Ive never had an eating disorder...what other causes are there for alot of erosion? The erosion in on the tops of my bottom front teeth, the back of my top front teeth and the tops of my chewing surfaces. It appears to be some sort of acidic wear because its not just the top surfaces (like grinding would do). I do wear a guard at night so I wont grind, just in case. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

Lemonade and tooth enamel erosion?

Posted on July 8, 2010

I have a significant amount of tooth enamel erosion on most of my teeth. I have never had an eating disorder and recently a doctor ruled out the possibility of acid reflux being a cause. When I was around high school age I became obsessed with lemonade. I really drank alot of it. I know that it has been mentioned that sucking on lemons could cause erosion, but what about lemonade?
