My gums are bleeding after brushing teeth?
I brush my teeth, and there's a gap (filled with gum) between my two front upper teeth. For some reason, when I brush that area (pressing it a little), it starts bleeding. No other places bleed, just this area. I have to stop brushing, run my mouth with cold water, and continue brushing. What is the disease and how can I prevent it?

Why does tarter tend to form back on your teeth after a scaling even if you are brushing twice daily?
I had to get a scaling done on my teeth in 2005. I have been brushing, flossing, and swoshing faithfully in the morning and before bed ever since. After I brushed my teeth yesterday evening , I noticed tarter has formed again in the back of my upper teeth. What extra steps can I take to prevent having this procedure done every few years?
Is a dental explorer harmful to tooth enamel?
Every time I go in for a cleaning, my teeth get scraped with the explorer. I don't see how this could not be harmful to my enamel. I also experienced some extreme sensitivity on some of my upper teeth at my last visit to the dentist. The dentist told me that if I'm not experiencing any sensitivity to hot or cold foods, then my teeth would just be sensitive during the cleanings. Ummm, ok. I do not want to feel that sensation again. I'm sure it has something to do with my invisalign treatment. My orthodontist had to go in and "shave" a little off of my upper teeth so that they wouldn't crowd. They've been sensitive ever since. I always have this feeling that they're doing more harm than good. I'm just wondering if maybe I should find another dentist.
Dental Questions…?
Hey all, I've a couple of questions regarding dental health/hygiene that have been on my mind lately:
How do people end up with those big, nasty, brown/yellow stain-lines through their [usually] upper teeth?
Fluoride is beneficial to teeth, but is that when consumed internally (ie: Tap Water) or when placed on the teeth? (like the stuff the dentist rubs on your teeth when you get your routine cleaning). Or is it both?
Thank you.
