What is the treatment for gingivitis?

    regular brushing and asking professional dental help would be perfect!!!

  4. You must 1st start flossing your teeth everyday. Then follow up with good tooth brushing techniques. Go see your dentist now and on a regular basis.

  5. listerine, periodontal cleanings which is same as a regular cleaning you just go every 3 months rather than 6, brushing and flossing after meals and before bed…even a deep cleaning will work to your advantage.

  8. Lots of tissue conditioners are available in the market. You could also use a specialized toothpaste for gingivitis. Maintenance of oral hygiene is the key.

  9. I have posted this before, but here it is again:

    After my last cleaning, they said I had a mild case of gingivitis. Here is what they told me to do:

    1. Brush morning and night. Night is the most important. Don’t brush in straight lines. Use circular rotatiosn, and don’t use too much pressure. On the back of my very front teeth, I was told to take my brush and pull it forward to clean those teeth and to prevent gum recession.

    2. Floss properly. To floss you make a "C" shape against the tooth, and run the floss up as far as it will go, which actually goes to the top of the tooth and under the gums, the go down, and then up and down again, then do on the other tooth in that area. If you are not going all the way up, there is no point to flossing at all, but it does help prevent gingivitis and cavities. You may bleed at first, but that is not bad. You are bleeding because you have signs of gingivitis, but healthy gums won’t bleed while flossing. I was told that bleeding wasn’t bad and to keep flossing. I did bleed sometimes the first couple days, but now I don’t at all.

    3.Listerine for 30 seconds (no rinsing) morning and night will also help your gums and teeth. They told me to use Listerine specifically, any flavor, but if I couldn’t handle the burn even on the mild flavors that I could use Crest Pro Health but nothing beats Listerine.

    At first I hated the Listerine, but I am actually used to it now, and my mouth feels gross if I don’t use it.

  10. First you need to start seeing a dentist regularly if you don’t already.

    Next, this is a treatment I have used to get a mild case under control. For approx a week brush and floss, at the least, after you eat..anything, any time…and before bed. This should be at 4 times a day. After brushing and flossing rinse with hot salty water, as hot as you can stand it. This will help toughen your gums. As an extra you can also rinse with hydrogen peroxide. After the week is up you can start a regular routine of brushing and flossing at least twice a day, one being before bed.

    But still, see a dentist for a proper cleaning

  11. Brushing and flossing. Gingivitis is the mildest form of periodontitis. It simply means the gums are red and inflamed from plaque and debris. This plaque and debris can be removed with tooth brushing and flossing. If it is not removed it will become calculus and then will require professional care. Don’t delay, brush today!
