Why are my gums bleeding? I know I don't have Gingivitis…?

Last weekend I bought these new floss things, and my gums have been bleeding ever since. Should I stop using them? I have done my research, so Gingivitis is scratched off of my list. My teeth and gums are very healthy for the most part, and I don't like the bleeding gums every time I floss.

You could be being a little too rough and have irritated your gums. Rinse with warm, salty water and try using a Water Pic like device. Also your toothbrush should be "soft", not "medium" or "hard". Anything but soft will erode your gums and cause them to shrink back. Be sure to get plenty of Vitamin C or take a multivitatmin.

Bleeding gum means you have a problem, if i were you i would go to a doctor, i had bleeding gum then it got worse to periodontitis, my dentist told me that i need a surgery, so i did…
really bleeding is one of the gingivitis symptoms, sometimes you wont notice, only your doctor can tell you, really go to your doctor before it gets worse.

Maybe you floss a little too hard, I do that sometimes too. Try more than anything to floss the sides of your teeth, which essentially is what flossing is for, and don’t rub to hard against your gums. If you keep bleeding stop flossing with those things, if you still keep bleeding then tell your dentist.

How do you know your gums are healthy? I mean unless your dentist told you so, then you can be sure about it. I thought my gums were healthy too, but my periodontist told me I had periodontitis. And I didn’t have swollen, red gums, you know, the common gum disease signs.
My point is we don’t really know how healthy our gums are unless they get checked by a professional. So if you have healthy gum, then it’s probably because you floss too hard that causes the bleeding? Try to do it with a light hand. If you still bleed, you should stop using it.
