Why does putting pressure on my gums feel good?

Posted on September 9, 2010

Occasionally, when I'm brushing my teeth, I find that it feels good to bite down on my toothbrush to put pressure on and between my gums. When this happens, it also feels good if i use my finger to push against them. Its only on the left, top side of my mouth. What's the deal?
Also, the morning after this happens and I brush my teeth again, that spot is really sore. I'm guess that's from all the pressure that was applied the previous night, though.

  1. putting pressure on your gums help stimulate blood flow in through them and that’s probably why it gives a good sensation.
and why it’s on a specific part is because you might not eat on that side as much or it just needs more blood flow through it.

    :)
